Posting

This is harder to keep updated each day when I dont have regular internet access, but rest assured I'm still trying my best to do a deed each day.

January 9 2012

I helped my friend find a tent to stay in for our Australia Day weekend camp! :D

January 8 2012

Today I left a very large bag of goodies at the charity donation bin.

January 7 2012

Today was moving day. I helped my house mates load their things onto the truck.

I also had a lot of good deeds done for me today because a few of my friends very kindly helped me move house.

January 6 2012

Today was a big packing and preparing day. We also had our Goodbye House party.

I was told that this was my good deed for the day as I organised it and it was a real celebration of the house and also a great way to bring everyone together.
This is going to get a bit harder, I've moved out of a house with an internet connection to a place that has no internet. We'll see how we go...

January 5 2012

Today I won a prize from a shopping centre machine. It was a kids jigsaw puzzle and I didn't really have any use for it. While I'd been shopping I'd seen this very cute family who were shopping too. As I was buying my lunch they came up beside me so I smiled, told them I had just won the puzzle and that i thought they would get more enjoyment out of it than I would.

They smiled said thank you and I hope they get some enjoyment out of it!

January 4 2012

I found out it was my friends birthday today so I took him out for lunch. It was really good to catch up with him so I guess I did him a favour but he did me one too :) Anyway was nice to see an old friend!

January 3 2012

Today was tougher because I barely left the house and I don't know if you count it but I gave a friend a pair of shoes I was going to sell on ebay. Does that count?

January 2 2012

Today's good deed came without much trying and I didn't even realise either deed was done until after it had happened.

It is a scorching 40 plus degrees outside and its almost too hot to do anything. I've spent the day defrosting the fridge and packing to move so at about 4pm I thought I should seriously think about what deed I was going to do today. Then I realised.....

1. My house mate had slept through his alarm and I volunteered to hang out his washing as he was running late.

2. Another friend is moving house and was coming round to collect the TV cabinet which belongs to a house mate. I helped her move the unit to the car.

January 1 2012

I needed to do something positive and I wanted to be able to make a difference. Drawing on the immortal words of Michael Jackson (don't judge me for poor taste in music, it just seemed appropriate):

I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right

I'm Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change

The theory is that I do at least one good deed every day. Who knows if anyone will ever stumble across this blog or if anyone will ever know, but hopefully with these small actions I'll be able to make a big difference! So here goes I guess....

January 1 2012

1. Last night I stayed at the NYE house party I went to. Before the hosts were out of bed I (along with one of the other girls who had stayed over) had cleaned up all the bottles, cups, left over food and general party mess we had made.

2. I'm in the process of moving house. One of my house mates has already moved out but she left some things behind. I delivered an esky and some other bits and pieces to her new house.

Like I said it's not necessarily big things but I hope I can make a bit of a difference. That warm fuzzy feeling you get when you help won't be too bad either.

It's not always going to be easy. Sometimes the deeds will just present themselves to me and I will just need to say yes. But its the days where they aren't so obvious and I have to go hunting for them that I think will be harder. If anyone does ever stumble across this blog and feels like making suggestions I'm more than happy to listen.

Day one down... 365 to go....
